8/25/2005 - Come, Lord Jesus!
A brief report of the 2005 Chinese-speaking perfecting conference in New Jersey.
|
Moving forward from the past two conferences — “Come Follow Me” and “The Glorious Vision and the Way of the Cross”, the burden of this conference was to gain vessels of dispensational value to turn the age, to prepare the bride and to hasten the Lord’s coming. The hope is that the saints who love the Lord’s appearing can build up a holy life of the God-man living in the light of Lord’s second coming, a life of shepherding according to God, and a life of watching and preparing for the Lord’s parousia.
Because of the strong operation and burning of the Holy Spirit in the past two years, this year’s perfecting conference was unprecedented in the numbers of attendees, participating churches, localities, campuses, and the percentage of newly saved young students and scholars. Saints from 107 localities/churches attended this conference, and they had a burden for 141 campuses. Both of these numbers more than doubled those of last year. In total, 1,070 saints attended (670 full-time, 400 part-time), among whom 593 saints were below the age 40 and saved less than 10 years.
The conference was blessed in the following ways:
1. The saints prayed seriously and desperately in one accord. Starting one month before the conference, the saints prayed on their knees daily at a definite time. Four days before the conference started, the small group coordinators came early to pray, fellowship, pursue and prepare for the meeting. We can testify that when we are serious toward the Lord, He is faithful and serious with us.
2. The atmosphere and flow of consecrations were spontaneous, smooth, and reasonable. During the entire conference, no one promoted consecration, and no message was spoken on consecration. However, Psalm 110:3 says, “Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of Your warfare, in the splendor of their consecration.” The consecrations reached a climax on the first day of the conference. Many saints proclaimed, “I consecrate myself, to be either raptured or martyred.” The consecration time after every message was crowded by the saints. Because of the limited time, many did not have the chance to declare their consecration even after waiting in line 3 or 4 times. As of Saturday night, August 6th, 753 consecration sheets were received and 361 saints openly proclaimed their consecration.
3. The participating English-speaking blending brothers and elders gave their testimonies, touching the saints deeply again and again. The brothers’ first love toward the Lord, their pursuing the truth, their seeing the vision of Christ and the church, their appreciation and confirmation of the ministry of the age…, all encouraged the saints to consecrate themselves to Christ and the church for the Lord’s move in this age.
4. The saints from all areas of North America coordinated in one accord on services like airport pick-up, hospitality arrangement, meal service, transportation, the book room, children’s service, cleaning, audio/video, etc. From young brothers and sisters 12 years of age to older saints in their 70’s, all as one man offered up their labor and sleep for the conference. What a practical shepherding!
5. Local saints in New Jersey endeavored and offered their whole being to coordinate in the services. From July 29 to August 8 more than 200 homes opened to receive approximately 600 saints. May the Lord remember their services of diligence and labor when He comes and reward these faithful and prudent slaves with Himself as the prize.
Burdens for Prayer
Please pray that all who attended this conference would live a holy life expecting and preparing for the Lord’s parousia. We need to pray for overcomers to be produced. Also, we desperately need to get into the burden and practice of the God-man living by continuing steadfastly in the life practices and participating in the practice of the shepherding according to God. We are also burdened for each saint to bear at least one remaining fruit in one year and bring one more saint to New Jersey next year; this needs much prayer. May the Lord bless His recovery and prepare us for His coming. Come, Lord Jesus!
